4 Ways to Ensure a Safe Student Trip

A safe trip is a planned trip. Here are the four things we ask every group leader to lock down before departure day.

1. Health

Document every dietary restriction and medical need before the trip. Notify your Richmond Tours representative at least one week prior to your trip date about any special accommodations needed, so hotels and restaurants are ready. Students must bring their own prescription medications, and a chaperone should know who is carrying what.

2. Keep track

Keep a roster and do headcounts at arrival, at every meal, and at departure. Richmond Tours provides checklist templates so every chaperone is counting the same way.

3. Chaperones

One complimentary chaperone per ten paying students is included in every package. Parents or teachers can serve as chaperones, and additional chaperones can be built into the trip cost.

4. Security

Ask us to include security guards on your trip for an additional cost. Several of our overnight packages already include one guard per bus with overnight hotel security from 10 PM to 7 AM.
